Somebody Decided to Write

You're. Welcome.
Has anyone ever watched the show on MTV, "Awkward?" It's one of those kind of coming-of-age shows about a girl that has to go through the test that every single teenager in America has to go through... high school. I used to love that show when I was in high school. It was funny, clever, and it completely parodied the social American high school experience in five seasons. That was also back then when cable was still a thing, you had to wait a week for a new episode to come out, and you were not able to binge watch an entire season in a week.
Some of the funniest parts were Jenna getting hurt every season(the beginning seasons it was physical but towards the end it was more emotional), Sadie saying "You're Welcome!" after she just "cleared" someone(see gif to the right), and Jenna's mom just absolutely being the complete opposite of what a mom should be. Sadie saying "You're Welcome" every time she drags somebody was something that I looked for every. single. episode. If you have not seen the show, you can watch it on Amazon Video for free if you have Amazon Prime subscription.(so I guess it's not free? Whatever. Political Correctness sucks.)
You are probably wondering, "What does Jenna Hamilton and her high school drama have to do with Nate writing a blog?" Usually in every episode(at least in the first couple of seasons; I think they phased it out as they had more seasons), Jenna would write in a blog about her problems and what was going through her head. Now, I watched that show when I was in high school, and I haven't watched it in some time. As a now full-grown adult, the idea of using a blog to hash out what goes on in this weird brain of mine actually kind of excites me. Now, Jenna kept her blog secret for a little bit before ultimately deciding to release it. I'm skipping that whole season and just going straight to letting everyone know how a somewhat intellectual man like myself gets around in the world.
You're Welcome?
Now, unlike Jenna, this blog will not be filled with pointless relationship drama or petty secrets that don't necessarily have to be shared(I mean, maybe I might tell a secret or two, but we can think on that at a different date). No. I want to talk about the other kind of drama that people love to delve in.
Who all loves seeing those political posts pop up on their Facebook with the comment section filled with 70 year old southern elders that get all their information from Fox News, love using the term snowflakes to call out people for being sensitive, but then turn around and cry when people kneel during the National Anthem? Or another comment section that is filed with those 20-year old SJWs that love to hate themselves for being white, have the endurance(and the time) to stay outside a government building protesting a statue for days, and you can't have a conversation with until you acknowledge one of the plethora of pronouns to use? I will probably get some slack for those two examples, but oh well. I am a fact guy. I am going to share with you what I discover about some of the most controversial topics talked about in America, and also share what each of the sides are saying about it. Not only that, but I will be pointing out why they are saying it.
You're Welcome.
I'm a movie lover. Actually scratch that. I am an entertainment lover. From books to movies to TV shows, we are going to have some conversations about some of the hot storytellers out there. I'm not just going to talk about it. I am going to look at controversial takes on said mediums, analyze what is being said about them, and report my findings. Even though I am a fact guy, when it comes to the arts, most of the stances people have are subjective and do not have any factual standing, so that will be interesting to explore. By the way, I don't have cable, and don't plan on getting cable, but I do have almost every streaming service imaginable. If it's not online, I'm not watching it.
De Nada.
I like music. Mostly, the non-verbal kind. Classical, EDM, movie/tv show soundtracks, DCI. You name it. There will be a space for the lovers of Beethoven, Hans Zimmer, John Mackey, Daft Punk, and whoever else you can think of that does, or has done, something interesting. Even though they have words, I think I will also tackle musicals as I fulfill one of my aspiring goals of going to the local theater here in Tallahassee.
Overall, you are going to get the mind of Nate. There will definitely be topics that don't fit any of the topics I listed above. Whether you're interested in what that looks like, that is for you to decide. My mind is a crowded space. I keep it crowded intentionally, as I love information and learning(or maybe it's the ADHD talking. Who knows). Now, I come to share that with the other peasants, like myself.
Your Welcome Friend,
Nate
